This project transforms the old conservatory into a new living space that’s bright, open, and connected to the landscape. The design is simple but striking: a timber-framed structure with glass on all sides, so every wall frames a view. To the west, the room soaks up the evening sun, while timber fins filter the daylight, creating gentle patterns of shadow that shift through the day.
Above, a sedum green roof brings both beauty and sustainability. It keeps the space naturally insulated, helps manage rainwater, and supports local biodiversity — small steps that add up to a lighter environmental footprint.
Outdoors, a new dining terrace extends the room into the garden, making it easy to move between inside and out. The result is a modern, flexible space that feels part of the house yet deeply connected to its surroundings — a place to gather, relax, and enjoy the changing light and views.
The project is understood to fall within permitted development and is currently moving forward into the technical design stage.
